Now they can be, with a remarkable breakthrough in technology, Insignia appliances are individually created to match your teeth and treatment. We are proud to be the first (and currently the only) orthodontic office in Australia to have access to this technology.

Please ask about "Insignia" when you see us!

Metal Braces
Metal braces are the most common, mostly made of stainless steel. Dr Fine uses high-tech Titanium braces which are smaller, more comfortable and more biocompatible than steel. Most of the patients like to dress up the braces with different coloured elastics that can be changed at each appointment. Multicolored elastics can be used are available - test this out with our Colour Planner

Ceramic Braces
Ceramic or Clear braces are a translucent tooth colored (clear) material. They are most popular with the adult patients. They are difficult to see on the teeth unless you are very close to the patient. The only drawback to the brackets is that they are more fragile and the elastic ties can discolor between orthodontic visits.

Invisalign (No Braces)
A new system available for adults and selected children for orthodontic correction of some bite problems. The Invisalign System is a series of clear overlay templates that have been generated by computer simulation to gradually move the teeth. Dr. Fine is an Invisalign Certified Orthodontist.

Lingual Braces
Lingual braces are similar to our metal braces (above) but are placed behind the teeth. Obviously this is an aesthetic advantage, although there are also some downsides of this option. We will go over the pros and cons with you at your assessment appointment before you decide this option is definitely for you (e.g. they can be less comfortable and significantly more expensive than other options).

Retainers
Some very minor orthodontic problems can be corrected with retainers. Retainers can be used on the upper and/or lower teeth.
